DataSafe gives you the means to save a copy of your Spectra backup at a secure off-site location. To use DataSafe, you'll need to sign up for this Spectra add-on service. Visit the DataSafe page on our website for more information and a link to the sign up page.
Control Center - DataSafe Job Settings
A DataSafe subscription is required.
You will need to be running Spectra 2011 Volume 1 or newer to use DataSafe.
DataSafe has it's own job on the Control Center.
Open the Control Center and click to modify the Remote Database Backup (DataSafe) job.
Enable the job.
Set the Start Time. It is recommended that you run the job between 12:00 AM and 7:00 AM.
Select the days you want the DataSafe job to run. It is recommended that you run it every night.
If you would like email notifications of successes and/or failures, select the checkbox and fill in the desired recipient's email address. You will need to have email setup in the Workstation Preferences of the computer you are running this on. Note: These notifications will indicate the success or failure of the local Control Center job (i.e., whether the job ran successfully at your studio). You will also receive an email confirmation from StudioPlus letting you know we received your backup successfully.
Click OK to save your settings.
Make sure you click the link to enable the Control Center.
An email confirmation will be sent to the email address we have on file in your customer record the following morning if it was successful. If you do not receive that email, be sure to call Tech Support right away at 763-552-5500.
Spectra will retain 14 copies of your most recent backups – 2 annual, 5 weekly, and 7 daily.
