FAQ: How to move an invoice from one client to another

You can re-link an existing invoice to a different session or to another client. Here's how:

  1. Open the invoice you want to re-link.

  2. Go to File menu and click Link Invoice.

  3. A search window will open. You'll use it to find the client you want to link the invoice to. Enter the first couple letters of the client's last name and click Search.

  4. You'll see a list of the client's sessions. Click the session you want to link the invoice to and click OK.

  5. Choose whether the new invoice should be linked to the specific session or to the client. Please note that only a Session Invoice can be linked with another session. If the invoice is a Client Invoice, then it can only be linked with another client record.

    • Link to this Session - Choose this option to link the invoice to the new session AND the new client.

    • Link to this Session's Parent Client - Use this option to link the invoice to the new client, but retain the link to the original session.

  6. Click Link to update the invoice.

  7. Save and close the invoice when finished.
