Company (Studio) Preferences - Audit Logging

Creating an audit trail for your most important and secure information is a good idea, especially if you have multiple employees creating invoices, giving discounts, and recording credit card transactions. Audit trail logs are a good thing to keep and are related to ensuring that your company is PCI compliant.

Audit Trail Options

  • Appointment Logging - Tracks information related to appointments that are created, modified, and deleted.

  • Client Logging - Records information related to client records that are created, modified, and deleted.

  • Invoice Logging - Keeps track of information related to invoices that are created, modified, deleted, unlocked, and have a credit balance transferred.

  • Payment Logging - Tracks information related to payments that are created, modified, deleted, unlocked, applied, and unapplied. Note: This information is important for your PCI compliance.

  • Session Logging - Tracks information related to sessions that are created, modified, and deleted.

  • User Authentication Logging - Records information related to users logging in, changing passwords, and overriding security. Note: This information is important for your PCI compliance.

  • Invoice Discount Logging - Tracks information related to any invoice discounts given to your clients. If you would like to also require the user to enter a discount reason at the time they are giving a discount, check the Prompt for Discount Reason check-box.

  • Clear Old Audit Trail Logs - Select this option when you want to clear out your audit trail logs. Make sure you keep an archive of old audit logs before you clear them, as they will not be saved once cleared. See Audit Trail Logs topic in the "Users and Security" section for more information about viewing and exporting your logs.

Audit Trail Log Report

Once you enable logging, you can view the log reports by going to Utilities > Audit Trail Logs. Select the date range that you would like to view. Export these logs to Excel and store them in a secure location before you clear out any old logs. See also: Audit Trail Logs
