Setting Up Credit Card Processing

Watch this video and follow the step-by-step instructions below to get set up to process credit cards with myStratus through TSYS (formerly Cayan).

Credit Card Processing Overview

StudioPlus has chosen to integrate myStratus with TSYS, an industry-leading credit card processing company. The integration does not require any additional software.

In addition to making credit card processing extremely easy, StudioPlus and TSYS take much of the hassle out of the requirements necessary for your business to become PCI compliant. See the PCI compliance section below to learn more about PCI compliance and how it affects you.

About PCI Compliance

The Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard (DSS) defines a set of requirements for the configuration, operation, and security of payment card transactions in your business. If you allow your clients to pay with credit cards, these standards apply to you. Failure to comply with these standards can result in significant fines should a security breach occur.

The credit card processing routine myStratus offers in conjunction with TSYS makes it much easier for your business to attain PCI compliance. Using this integration allows Stratus to remain outside the PCI compliance scope. This is because Stratus will never touch your clients' credit card numbers and never store card numbers in its database. Utilizing token processing through TSYS, this credit card routine works on single transactions as well as automatic payment plans.

Getting Started with TSYS

To get started using TSYS credit card processing with your myStratus software, follow these simple steps:

  1. Create a TSYS account. The first step is to get a no-obligation quote from TSYS, click here. Once your account is established, TSYS will email you your unique account credentials.

  2. Using your account credentials, log in to the TSYS gateway and process a payment for $1. Doing so will ensure the account credentials are valid and that your account is set up properly. You can then void the test transaction.

  3. Enter your account credentials in myStratus. Go to Maintenance > Preferences > Company Preferences  and open the Credit Cards page. Enter your TSYS credentials on both the Keyed and Swiped tabs.

  4. Create a test client and invoice in Stratus and then process a test payment through Stratus. See Processing Credit Cards through Stratus for instructions on how to process a payment.

  5. Log in to the TSYS gateway to verify the payment was received by TSYS. You can then void the test transaction in the TSYS gateway.
